I did a clay workshop with four young girls this summer here at my house. Here are some pictures of their work. I will be posting more shortly. Their pieces turned out great!! So colorful!

We have had many snow days in the past week or two, so I have been painting a lot. I listen to Patty Griffin over and over and try to put my emotions into the paintings. I could paint all day. I plan to improve every time I do a new painting, and might even take another painting class!!

So I have been inspired lately and working on a new landscape painting. It is a work in progress since I am far from being finished. Thought I would post the work in progress. The Chester County landscape is so beautiful.

It's been a while since I posted, but here are some pics of my latest. My first hat of the season, made with alpaca and organic cotton yarn, love it!
And this is the wooden dollhouse I made for Ashley for Christmas last year, since the one I wanted was way too pricey! So I decided to give it a try and make my first dollhouse. Designed with stone exterior, painted rug in kitchen, and decoupage wallpaper! Hope this lasts for the grandkids!

Well, hat season is over for now!! Thanks to all who ordered hats!! I have been student teaching the past few weeks in an elementary art class and absolutely love it!! I will be so excited to get my own classroom and create an after school art club and host the annual art show. Few more months to go then I am on my way!!

These are an example of the decoupage picture frames I do. The pink toile was a baby shower favor for my friend who was having a little girl. Each guest got a mini frame to take home with them, great shower favors!! I can also do them in any design.

This is part of a triptych painting I did last year for a family that has a cottage at the Chesapeake. It is three canvases that look like one large piece when completed. This is the middle canvas, and the picture below is on the end.

Hi, my name is Sarah Brittenburg Bacastow and I am an artist and mother of two children. Clay and Ashley. I am sure I began creating art as a child, I just don't remember any of it. I am not one of those artists that always knew they wanted to be artist, nor was I one who always had a crayon or brush in my hand. I did not realize I was an artist until I was nineteen years old, though I always had a creative spirit. I am now thirty-four. I am a certified PA Art Teacher, and I have taught many children's art classes at the Chester County Art Association.
